Previously we had a criteria “Tool development involving a range of stakeholders from different disciplines (e.g. methodologists, statisticians, clinicians)”. We found that this was not helping us to distinguish key tools from other tools and was often difficult to assess objectively.
We have also found that there are some tools for quite specific areas that were meeting all criteria for key tools but that we would not want to highlight as key tools as they would only apply to systematic reviews in specialist health areas.
We have therefore replaced the stakehold criteria with the following new criteria “Tool developed for use across topic areas (i.e. not developed for specific clinical area such as physiotherapy or dentistry)”. We will be reviewing our existing records to update these to the new criteria over the coming weeks.
